In Parliament there are 734 deputies, 50 of them English. On April 6 in the vote on amendment that would make flights shorter than 4 hours. tourist-class of 50, 4 voted in favor, 2 abstained and 44 voted against. Suppose that MEPs fly 60 times on average per year. They can sleep at home. Not like others.
For "mere curiosity" I just see the price of a round trip Madrid-Brussels-Madrid tomorrow, Monday 11, leaving at 7h 10m IB3216 Madrid on the flight and returning at 19h 05m (IB3205 ), the result is as follows:
- Business class: € 1,858.35
- Tourist: € 908.35

Both rates are "unrestricted" ie to allow for changes and cancellations.
If our 44 members fly 60 times a year, the difference in our budget is 2,508,000 Euros!
Is not a question of money? YES! is a question of money. And very serious!
I'm going to explain in any other way if they have left something of ethics, accountability and heart. Suppose that an unemployed person who does not charge any subsidy now have the option to charge € 1,000 monthly in 14 payments per year (many families live on less).
For with what could save Messrs MEPs paid to 180 families, about 400 people.
Put in front of these 400 people and looking at their face, again tell you that prefer to fly in business to which they can live in a dignified manner!
I can only think one sentence: Vds, the 44 MEPs who voted against have no shame and are, therefore, scoundrels!
